More Steam over-moderation: Intentional silencing of those who depict reality, and question the overarching political sphere

Dumber- for sure- but complacency is the big issue. Why are we allowing the average age of our politicians to rise when we see a direct correlation between old age and a general lacking of all forms of intelligence?

It's my belief that they're farming a brainrotted generation to keep people stupid and complacent. What you don't know can't hurt you, and if the new generation is told that their situation is fine enough through lies and manipulation tactics- sooner or later they're gonna buy into it; just being subservient minimum wage slaves.

Welcome to the end of the world, folks.

So go do that.

Bans are not to be discussed in open forums anyway so the usual thing is that they will simply close this thread(ideally delete it) but possibly not give you another ban just for having posted this here.

♥♥♥♥ that, and ♥♥♥♥ supporters of that.

Nothing but corrupt malpractice and abuse of moderation. The more people see their ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ silencing tactics, the better. The post isn't harmful- what they really meant to say was "Yeah, that's too disruptive and eye-opening; sorry"

Really?

This is just ridiculous. There's plenty of documented information showing everything I had posited- why do you guys feel the need to constantly falsely-overmoderate?

This is not your town square to protest in.

The fun part is when one support person responds and basically agrees with you, but then does nothing and then the second mod just makes a declaration about something and closes the ticket instantly. I'm no stranger to weird moderation.

That rule was actually removed, so any moderator using that is not doing their job.

Why do moderators lock and delete discussions?
Respectful arguments are a constructive and beneficial aspect of the Steam Community. When a discussion thread veers off a constructive path or is causing frequent disrespect between players, Steam moderators will lock the thread.

If a discussion thread contains prohibited topics, spam, or is otherwise not constructive, moderators may also delete specific content in an effort to preserve the conversation. However, there are cases where removing the thread itself is necessary.

I will be using that information, thank you

It sounds like you maybe found a flaw in the application of moderation. Rather than only making a support ticket know that you can find Gabe's email on Valve's own website and perhaps talk to him directly for clarification or perhaps to make a change(I think a lot of people may appreciate your effort).

Subject: Overmoderation on your platform, Steam

Multiple people have been subjected to what's really just a removal of freedom of speech. I understand the whole "It's my company, I'll do what I want" but even you must admit that it's ignorant at best to say that just about every slice of the public facing internet isn't owned by a company that'll apply their own authoritarian law to whichever platform it may be.

I'm just advocating for transparency, and better moderation. Here's some threads in which I got banned for.

How do we enact change? (anti-complacency)

It seems everyone collectively buries their head in games, social media that suppresses freedom of speech, and food. We continue to watch nations crumble and wars rage with a collective inaction- why?

How do we enact change in the 21st century? I feel like everyone has turned into a side-quest NPC who sorta watches the world around them thinking that they have 0 impact on any of the outcomes associated with life; how do we change that?

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So, I hope you're unaware of the rampant abuse of the moderation team that's actively silencing data-driven freedom of speech, and don't wish to be complicit in it. I've used Valve products for years, and thoroughly enjoy using Steam, playing games like Half-Life, Portal, etcetera, and can honestly say my only gripe is with the overmoderation of the discussion forums by both Valve employees and developer directed moderators.

I look forward to hearing back from you,

~ The community at large, as well as myself.

I think its at valvesoftware.com. It used to literally be a printed part of the website. I know for sure he says it in the TF2 developer commentary(in-game). I'll be back in a few to confirm.
