You don't have to view it purely by store, thankfully.
That's what I exactly do already, and don't want to. Let's say I browse a store page and check for games to buy, or I check my library for games to choose to install. Checking every game on browser (I use steam on official client, not browser), check the compatibility, and go back and forth for every game is frustrating.
What you mentioned is a workaround, not a proper solution, and I do it already and it gets me tired.
The feature is already there, implemented. As a programmer myself, I believe showing it (removing that filter thingy, or to enable to people who also linked a Steam deck to their account at least) should not be that difficult to implement.
Valve needs to stop discriminating and release the Deck worldwide, just like other console manufacturers do. Wanna play with the big boys, act like the big boys, Valve.
Alternatively Valve could add an option in user preferences, we're already able to chose various categories or which operating system etc, just add one for the Steam Deck too....
