Transfer the mobile app correctly using the same number for 2 day trade holds and ~36 hour Market listing holds.
My listings got held for fifteen days because I didn't log in to the Steam Mobile Guard Authenticator™ for seven. That's ridiculous. Literally ridiculous. Deserving of ridicule.
And the point of my post is, it's a giant pain in the ass so change it back to how it used to be, without the excessive hassle to the end user.
Because you disabled it to put it on the new phone.
This is the correct way using the same number...

I used my special code, but was still not allowed to use the Steam Market for 7 or 15 days... that original restriction is now gone, but these remain on my account:
The Market is unavailable for the following reason(s):
You are logging into The Market from a device that has not been protected by Steam Guard for 7 days. More info...
You have recently reset or enabled Steam Guard, you must wait 15 days after Steam Guard was enabled. More info...
Your account must be protected by Steam Guard for at least 15 days. To remove this restriction...
To clarify again, since you seem to not understand my purpose in being here, I get the rules and restrictions on using Steam Guard all too well. I understand them.
I'm saying that they're unnecessary and annoying.
I'm suggesting we allow users to opt-out of using Steam Guard, but still have access to the Steam Market.
You did not do it the correct way. That is why, for future reference, transfer it correctly.
Steam Guard will always be necessary to use the Market.
Steam Guard Email =/= Steam Guard Mobile Authenticator
You can use either and don't disable them entirely.
In my original post I explained that the Steam Support person who helped me said it was optional so I turned it off. Then I found out I couldn't use anything, so I turned it back on less than a minute later but I still have those restrictions.
I UNDERSTAND that that's how it works.
I'm suggesting that that's not how it should work.
You do get that this is the "Suggestions/ideas" section of the forum, and that I'm not asking for help on how to use Steam Guard, I'm suggesting that we get rid of it.
The moment you disabled it was when the restriction was triggered.
There is a reason why it is not optional.
Attitude or not. It will never be optional.
Why? Because it's inconvenient to the end user?
And it would be even more convientient for all the scammers/hijackers because gullible users will never die out.
Also, the Steam Market is not a right, it is a privilege.
That in absolutely no way means it has to be difficult or cumbersome to use.
Buried or not wouln't matter. You also need Steam Guard to post on the forums.
The way it is set up is how they want it to be. To protect everyone from fraud.
When your account gets hijacked don’t complain about “lack of security”
My computer is in the corner of my room where it takes up all of the power outlets for various devices such as the computer itself, modem, monitor, etc.
My smartphone charges across the room at another outlet near my bed, so I can check it at night/turn off my alarm in the morning.
It's across the room. That means when I want to list something on the market, I need to get up, walk across the room, pull up the Steam Mobile Guard Authenticator Asinine App™ and check a bunch of boxes to confirm that it's really me trying to list some worthless TF2 crates for $0.03.
I am careful with my account and computer and would appreciate not being treated like a child who can't wipe their own ass.
