Not really, but you could try the Steam cure-all: delete the clientregistry.blob file in the Steam folder and restart it. If that fails, delete everything in the folder BUT the steam.exe and the \steamapps\ folder. After starting the exe again, Steam will reinstall itself.

Tried deleting the clientregistry file, didn't do anything

When you exit Steam, do you do so via "Change User" or by the "Exit" button?

click the icon in menu bar and click exit, sometimes it shuts down when i close the comp.

From the main steam window click on the menus at the top.
"View">"Settings"
On this screen at the bottom should be a checkbox that I think you may have accidently checked.

[x] Don't save account credentials on this computer

Clear the checkbox and try again.

Credentials means your account name and password. If you don't want those saved then of course it's not going to remember your account name and password...

Actually I'm pretty sure it means credit card info...

Nope, that setting means your account name and login are not saved- deleting credit card information is a different process.

For that you need to select your account name at the top left of the client, select Account Details from the list, and under the wallet balance to the right, if any credit card information has been previously saved, there will be a delete link. Other than that you just choose not to save the credit card information when it is entered to the store at checkout.

Alright I'll check.
DarkCrystalMethod 26 Nov, 2012 @ 12:45pm
Your credit card info will be stored online at the steam store website but only if you put it there and check the box telling it to remember. Perhaps go there now and make sure nothing is stored.
1) Put a bogus item in your cart
2) proceed to checkout
3) look at the existing info
4) clear or re-enter the info, make sure it saves.

Once thats done your good to cancel or buy. Be sure you don't accidently buy though. Valve doesn't do refunds.

(Kiya beat me to it)

I unchecked the "Don't save account credentials on this computer" box and Steam STILL forgets my password.

1. Check the "save your login info" in the login screen.

2. Also uncheck "don't save account credentials..." in your settings under Steam > Settings > Account after you do login.

3. Log out.

4. Log back in entering all the info minus the account name again.

5. Log out.

Check... Log back in to see if it was done correctly.
