Steam Badge 4 years service? ive been on Steam much longer!
Did stats reset a few years back?

I had countless hours on CS 1.6 and Day of Defeat. I seem to remember when the new version of steam came out a few years back everything got reset.

It says i have very few hours on my old games. And ive been a member much longer than 4 years. Ive had my current PC 4 years, maybe that has something to do with it?

You must have made a new account since then because your member status says you signed up on March 15, 2008. I know I had to create a new account at some point before steam was big because the old one got hacked before steam had real security measures. So I've been on much longer as well but it's per account so I only have the 5 yr badge.

ive never rebought CS 1.6. dunno. I bought this PC in July 2008. And i played CS 1.6 with my old PC for a at least 2 or 3 years, when it was the old green Steam. Ive always been mitzibishi. always. so no new account has been made. every game ive owned for PC, mitzibishi.

Weird

That is quite odd then for sure. That will have to be something you sort out with steam support. https://support.steampowered.com/ don't expect an answer right away may take a week if the queue is too big but no steam user can help you beyond this point. Good Luck!

It is strange. I wondered where all my hours on CS and Day of Defeat went. I only thought about it till that 4 years service badge popped up and i thought id been around much longer than the age of my current PC

Sounds like a data glitch of some sort with your profile account. It won't matter what computer you have as steam tracks by your account as in logged in and playing, so even if you had a new PC there would be no time loss or a reset on your game times.

played times on games hasnt always been a feature either. I dont remember when it started keeping track.
I have an 8 badge. I think I've seen a 9 guy somewhere...
Perhaps if you have your proof of your first on-steam purchase you could convince Valve to adjust your "official" and apparently incorrect start date. (like anyone keeps receipts for games after 3 years, actually I do).
My introduction to steam though was a conversion from the CD-ROM based version of Half-Life(Sierra Studios flavored) so the moment I was on steam I had a full account (paid games already tied to it).
Given the situation you have described I don't see why you don't have a bigger badge. But you have to convince Valve to adjust it for you. Nothing us regular users can do about it.

Considering that was released before Steam was, that doesn't mean your Steam account is older than 4 years.

I've been on Steam for 8 years and have the 8 year badge. It's all correct.

You must of had a different account or something.

Actually there was an issue with people having the wrong 'join date' before now.
Can't remember what the outcome of it was.

But if i bought half life CD:ROM, I must have joined steam to access the online features, i didnt buy original release, bought it 2nd hand later. But i didnt actually purchase anything from steam for quite awhile becasue i just played CS 1.6 & Day of Defeat, deathmatch, opposing force, ricochet only for ages.

which i have very little play time on by the stats.

I played CS 1.6 & Day of Defeat constantly.

You've been a member since 2007 according to your profile. How many years between 2012 and 2007?
