There is no such thing as a "fake gift", however gifts that are purchased through fraudulent means (such as stolen credit card information) can land you in hot water. That is why I said to only accept gifts from those you know and trust.

Not necessarily banned, but things could get problematic.

Just don't accept a gift if you don't trust the person giving you the gift... Simple.

People don't get banned if they receive a fraudulently purchased gift, they merely have the game removed from their library.

I dont even know this guy at all and i dont know how he knew i wanted that game its not even on my wishlist

so am I, but considering you can file claims on pay pal, and likely report them through steam, it's not that big of deal. Especially for the cheap sales.

Although, I'm pretty sure this is bending steams rules...

They want you to buy 4 packs and gift them to friends for free, not buy together to save moeny, which I find kind of silly.

That's why you can't buy gift cards for friends...
