Valve support scammers
There is a wave of scam in TF2, good old facit scam from CS2, but now they are hunting for victims in MvM MannUp mode.

I warned on TF2 forums about that and moderator banned me for 1 day and removed my post for being inappropriate, lmfao.
Reason: "This post has been identified as inappropriate. When posting in the Steam Community, please ensure that content is appropriate for all Steam users."
My post haven't contained any inappropriate language or something.

Ban scammers and invent a quick solution to counter scammers? No, let's ban a guy who tried to warn community

Report scammers, don't name and shame them on the forums. This is because the accounts they use are those stolen from other victims, so you're naming and shaming the wrong people.

I didn't reference their accounts, you are wrong
I only described the way scammers lure victims into a discord and mentioned name of their discord channel and name of phishing site (Without even posting direct links)

Welcome to Steam.
The place with overzealous moderation towards users and the bare minimum against scammers.

Whoever responsible for steam community guidelines and for hiring moderators must be fired
It's some kind dystopian level of censorship, even youtube, twitter and twitch doesn't censor your comments like steam

Also not a wise idea. Report the accounts and move on.
Report, block, and move on with life. As others have said, name and shame of any sort will get YOU banned. Don't try to be a hero because it will only backfire on you.

There will always be scammers. As long as you're able to identify them and keep yourself safe, that's all that matters.

The problem with scammers is for every one they ban, another 10 will appear. Scammers use different websites to scam other users, people still fall for these scams, that's why they continue. Valve make it clear that using such websites is a risk, the Steam user gets a warning before they visit the site, how can they stop that? They could add another hundred warnings about different sites, but people would still go there.

Even today, people are still trying to get around the ban of posting links, so they spread the post out, for example:

s
c
a
m
s
i
t
e
.
c
o
m

They are aware that the link to that site has been banned by Valve so they try to get around that ban and lure people in with thread titles like, I need help, I need help with a particular game, etc.

To say that Valve support scammers is ridiculous, I see multiple posts removed daily by Valve trying to protect other users, yet still they continue posting here, because someone, somewhere, will believe it and go there.

Some of these scams are over 10 years old, yet still they work, until people realise how important account security is and use the tools available to protect their account, it will continue. Reporting and moving on is about the best advice.
Common sense is all you need to protect yourself from scams.

But too many users let their greed get the better of them or the bad actor tricks them with fear mongering tactics.
If warning the community did anything you'd have already been aware of the scam.

Given your responses in this thread though I am willing to bet you were just as inappropriate there and earned your ban
basic 101 with scammers. report, block and move on. You will find that its most likely a level 0 accounts, or its accounts what was "hijacked"

The accounts I report get acted on. So maybe you're doing that wrong, too.

Account reports are questionable at best. If you report people blatantly cheating, nothing will ever happen.
If they are scamming, it might take a week or two or more.

There is no consistency, no transparency. Its no wonder why people think they dont do anything.

Steam is not a country, it's a corporation. They make the rules. Soon, everyone, everywhere may be made to sign a loyalty statement saying whatever they're told is what to believe and do, so enjoy your eroding freedoms while you may.

Couple hundred of these in my community messages begs to differ:

Action has been taken on a report you submitted — 13 Oct @ 4:00am
Thanks for reporting a profile
A profile you reported has been reviewed and action has been taken. Thank you for helping to make the Steam Community a better place.

Even if you organize report bombing of someone's profile, nothing happens.

Report bombing obviously won't work as it's against the rules and will be just cleared when a moderator sees it happening. 1 proper report is enough but if that 1 is mixed with 1000 false reports, the proper report will get cleared when moderator clicks the resolved button as no action will be taken on false reports and they are not going to waste time reading them all.
