No, it isn't, First thing first, the company you all are so outraged by is not guilty of any criminal activity. It's just an insignificant consulting company people gave a lot more clout than it deserved. Basically, making the Kilimanjaro out of an anthill.

And do you know what recourse they have for that? None at all. They literally cannot do anything by law other than tell people that I refused their suggestions.

They could try to threaten me or engage in a smear campaign, at which point, I'd lawyer up and take them to court. Which by the way, I'm a small independent author that needs a new agent. Y'all are claiming that these people have extreme power against companies with legal teams that if said lawyers even looked in my direction, I'd be rolling over, asking how I can avoid being sued and if there was no recourse, I'd would be filing for bankruptcy. That's just from looking in my direction. Imagine what they'd do to someone who tried to cause reputational damages or threaten them.

The developers themselves hire them which means the game was gonna be ♥♥♥♥ either way with or without SBI, hiring SBI is just proof the devs suck, same as buying Denuvo proves the developers hate their legit players and want to punish them, Denuvo doesn't force themselves on anyone, they just publish fake advertising to sell their snake oil to publishers who then force devs to use it, same ♥♥♥♥. Both parties are in the wrong.
