Been playing games since the early 80's, too. Given that we now need "online storefronts" and "launchers" for everything, I find Steam to be pretty easy to use and doesn't really have any problems.

It's an easy to use platform that has been around for some time without causing too many problems, and it has a massive number of games.

Because it's a store and has games you want on it?

Why would anyone spend the time to create a Steam account just so they could post, "Why would anyone ever use Steam?"

They've bought games. The OP looks like a rant someone would post after having issues with their games. It's easy to blame the platform for everything that's Evil in the world.

OP, if Steam is the worst platform, why did you even start using it? Clearly you liked the other platforms more.

I started gaming on the C64, and yah, here I am. I'm enjoying my Steam time quite a bit.

The worst part of Steam and why I won't buy full priced games so Steam gets nothing is their employees target users for banning and censorship to protect cheaters and go after their political or religious opponents. Yep!
