easy in the beginning and start to getting hard to the mid late game. A good game for someone that likes tatical games and challenges.

At first some of the design decisions seem like they might limit your choices (no menu of actions, 1 action per target type) but as time goes on these systems offer a perfect amount of complexity, decision making, and choices while still being extremely approachable. There is almost a puzzle like element to the rock-paper-scissors elemental damage and you can tune your team, equipment, summons, and spells for each battle. Subjectively I think it overstays its welcome by about 10 hours, but if you love the combat (and it is quite good) you might want even more (which you can get in new game+). The story and writing is quite weak, again IMHO, but is perfectly serviceable. Overall this is a well done tactics game that has a lot more depth that you might think at first glance. 6.5/10

I loved recruiting monsters in Final Fantasy Tactics. This game brilliantly makes that the core loop of gameplay. I'm not that far in the story, I've just been playing with different monster combos. It's great that almost every other fight reveals some gear, skill, or monster that suggests a whole new way to play for me.

Those looking for a super-hard tactical game may look elsewhere. I am only decent at strategy games, but this one is pretty forgiving. You can get punished hard for mispositioning, but there aren't really any consequences i you jsut try over and over again.

A great, chill, monster-collecting tactics game! I'm loving it.
