Where is the save folder so that I may backup my progress since the game doesn't have cloud saves?

I know I'm probably doing something very dumb here, but I'm a bit loss on the functionality of the training hub. I find the screens and Use them and the description pops up ("Basic Training", "Workshop and Upgrades" etc) but then if I press Use / space bar again, the message disappears and that's all I'm seeing. The Workshops and Upgrades one is especially confusing since there's a door right next to it but when I use the door, it just cracks. No one else has had this problem so clearly I'm off my ro...

Is there a way to remap the controls even with a text file? I know I can change my keyboard to qwerty with system option but it shouldn't be needed
