I can't figure it out. Is the Iron Front mod for Arma 3 a continuation of Iron Front Liberation 1944? Or is it a conversion from the game, under the same brand - but with an expanded arsenal?

After following the instructions on ironfront.fanforum I've been having some issues when installing the community patch for IFA2's DLC after installing the previous two community patches for IFA2. Before running the conversion tool I ran Iron Front which seemed to work perfectly (I verified the steam files too just to be safe) and I was able to load and play the DLC. Can someone tell me how to convert the game files for using it as a mod for Arma 2 AO? I have read its possible, personally I like Arma 2 its has a unique charm to it thats why i got this game instead of playing more Arma 3 ifa3, but I have worse performance and temperatures while playing Iron Front than in Arma 2 so I would like to run Iron Front as a mod in Arma 2 AO...
