Why is the demo 13gb?

The thing that usually takes up tons of disk space is HD 3D assets. This game, while it has a great visual style, clearly doesn't have those. I'm not assuming anything here, but I prefer to be cautious when a download seems to be far different in size than I would expect, so I'd love a little insight: could you share why the demo is so large?...
