Synth Riders Version 3 - Now live with new UI Update!
With the latest update, we have moved Synth Riders by default to Version 3, which was previously only available on the open-beta channel.

Important Information on Version 2 > Version 3 Update

  • Please note that all custom content needs to move inside SynthRidersUC folder in your game install folder.
  • Please note that only updated custom stages made for Version 3 will work with Version 3.

  • If this is your first time on Version 3, please consider reading the release notes available on Reddit here as it is a big update affecting a lot of things with the game, with useful background and important information here that's still relevant.
  • You'll find specific Release Notes for Version 3.5.1a1 (UI Update) available on Reddit here
  • You may remain on version 2 by opting into `previous` beta channel available on Steam.

Additional notes for Version 3.5.1a1
  • At present, the Twitch Integration is not available for Version 3.5.1a1, but will be patched in again very soon.
  • Multiplayer in this version of the game is incompatible with other versions of Multiplayer. Please make sure everyone in your party is on the new UI before playing together!

I like the new menus and the responsiveness of the controls. My scores are higher than they've ever been. However, I play with my group and they are Quest users. I can hear them, but they can't hear me. Apparently my avatar is on the floor. And they show as having no score when playing. And vice versa.

There is a known issue of interaction between Steam & Quest at the moment which we are looking into - thanks for the report!
The Scoring and Ranking Tables are much better right now. It would be great to put my actual ranking in percent (500/3500)×100=14.29) . Gives me even more motivation. But your you made it really better. Thank You.
By the way, the resolution of some pictures are really weak. Hope they will be changed soon.

Do you have an example of a low resolution image that you've found?

I am probably the edgiest of edge cases here, but the UI changes are killing me. More specifically, browsing songs is killing me.

I am practically an alien in the VR world, perhaps the last of my kind. I am using an HP Reverb G2, which was known as "the simmer's" headset, and not at all recommended for games like Synthriders due to not having the greatest controller tracking. While there are definitely deadzone problems, the controllers are actually perfectly serviceable otherwise.

I digress. The problem I am having is browsing songs. For the bundled-in songs, my assumption was that I would point at the < and > arrows along the bottom tray/dock to scroll left and right, but when I do this it always snaps back to the right. Eventually, I discovered that holding the left analog stick to the left allowed me to navigate in that direction.

99% of my time is in Custom Songs though, so I thought no biggie... Until I tried to browse through my custom songs. Before, there were nice up/down arrows and I could very rapidly slide through my track list and get to where I needed to go. Now, there is a scroll bar (terrible in VR) or I can try to hold my left analog stick down. The former is more preferable to the latter, but the problem I run into is that as the tile graphics load for each track (and I have m a n y), it slides my menu continually upwards. This makes scrolling through custom songs extremely painful.

Otherwise, so far I have noticed what seems to be a massive performance improvement. For the longest time, I have avoided playing on the "default" stage because I got terrible stutter on it for some reason, but it was running excellent now. Also subtle, but somehow awesome is the change to the rails both in terms of how they look and the force feedback. Loving it. Hope to see the UI become less tortuous! :charmed:

So that control should be left or right analog stick to move left / right, or grab/drag or use arrows. The fact that it's sticking makes me wonder whether you have stick drift that's always forcing the right stick on? Could confirm this by altering the bindings for the game.

The implemented controls here are up/down analog stick with acceleration (the list should scroll faster the longer you hold); grab the list and drag up/down; grab the scroll object and drag it *and* you can click in the negative space above and below the scroll bar to do large jumps of sections. I'm hoping that one of these options will give you what you are looking for; the bar grab has been very well used by people who have stick drift!

Screenshots not necessary - you can just tell me where to look at it, I can find it easily enough.
