Lazy writing, repetitive environments and atmosphere, loaded with tons of notes and collectibles that are partially greyed out (am I supposed to read all that)? Shooting gameplay is no fun, telekinesis is a gimmick that wears out after three times and the slightly more advanced ennemies dodge it, very unsatisfying.
No fun to be had and nothing very deep either, just a kind of weak conspiracy-Matrix-pseudo-philosophical thing that takes way too long to reveal.

so its an amazing story game, but the gameplay can get real repetitive and tedious sometimes. its just not deep enough to be engaging after SO many fights, and i ended up skipping a lot of them when i could. plus the buildcrafting and mod system is so unnecessarily deep, like why are there random timed challenge events???

HOWEVER none of those issues matter because the story is so gripping and unique and it makes it all worth it for sure. i havent played the AWE dlc content because i'm going to go play alan wake first, but this game has totally sold me on remedy's universe and i cant wait to come back to it,, dr darling is one of the best characters in any game ever and i love him
