Also, 50% is a huge discount. Is fine if you don't feel is enough for you to buy the game, but there's no world in which half off is a bad discount. And what does "Its Christmas" even mean? Especially for a Japanese publisher.
Not on a five year old game that's still $59.99 base price. Typically you reduce the price of your games as they get older.
Nope, not at all. There are 10+ year-old games and older with lower discounts. Typically, things get discounted based on sales expectations and marketing strategies. How old a game is rarely factors in, at least as the main defining factor of a discount. The highest priority goes to how well the game still sells overall and if that fits their marketing strategy there's no reason to change it.
Additionally, if an older game garners newfound interest, some publishers will even lower their previously set discounts as is the case for Metal Gear Rising: Revengance after the game became a Twitch streamer meme, as well as the Dark Souls games after the release of Elden Ring, all of which now go for lower discounts than they did multiple years ago.
And that’s just on Steam, ‘cause if we’re going to start talking about other companies, like Nintendo, then it’s doubly true that age means virtually nothing when it comes to discounting games.
EDIT: Thanks for the award! I'm still right though : P
Everything.
Or clutch your pennies and find some thing else to play?
I can, and I could.
I just don't think the game should still be 50% off after this long. But that's just me.
I have major respect for FROM and I love their games.
They will very unlikely to lower the price if it still sells well.
