Sekiro is the GOAT, and Elden Ring is Overrated.
Alright, mortals, listen up! I, Starscream, have conquered every Soulsborne game (except Bloodborne, sadly out of my reach on PC) and after slicing my way through them all, I've come to a verdict: Sekiro is the pinnacle of FromSoft’s work. Yes, I mean it—the GOAT. And before you start screaming “but what about Elden Ring?!", hear me out.

Elden Ring may be sprawling and beautiful, sure, but it's like comparing a finely honed blade (Sekiro) to a bloated, oversized club. In Sekiro, every battle, every single move, feels perfectly crafted. There’s no cheesing with over-leveled builds, no hiding behind shields or summoning Spirit Ashes to fight for you. You have to master the art yourself. No mercy, just pure, raw skill.

Meanwhile, Elden Ring... well, it’s grand, I’ll give it that. But half the time you’re wandering around recycled caves or running into the same boss dressed up in different skins. The experience is spread thin. Sekiro, on the other hand, is laser-focused, forcing you to face each foe head-on and earn every single victory.

So yeah, while the masses hail Elden Ring as the masterpiece, true warriors know that Sekiro’s challenge, intensity, and tight design make it the real gem. Go ahead, prove me wrong—if you can.

Elden Ring is Sekiro little ♥♥♥♥♥.

The A team in FS: BB, Sekiro, AC 6 beats B team: DS2, DS3, ER.

Demon's and DS1 were made before split the team in two teams.

The Lead combat designer of BB and Sekiro, father of the Trick Weapons of BB and the GOAT parry of Sekiro was promoted to Game Director with AC6.

So Miyazaki sensei knows whos the GOAT.

I liked Sekiro more than Elden Ring but you compared them as a fine blade and an oversized club and I like oversized clubs more so now I like Elden Ring more

In Sekiro it's like you're controlling an athletic person, and in Elden Ring it's like you're controlling a fat person.

They both are the only 2 games that I bought on playstation and also on pc, but Sekiro is from far my favorite, especially because of the learning curve. It is so satisfying, going from being oponent's little ♥♥♥♥♥, to beating each of them charmless, or no hit, or both, is better than an orgasm.

Elden ring is simply copy/pasted enemies/bosses everywhere.

Personally, Elden Ring only had a few good bosses and was just too big, making consecutive playthroughs kind of a slog. And that is just the base game alone. Then they drop a dlc on top of that, which has even more content. Meanwhile this game.....this game didn't get dlc. I guess gauntlets were cool and painful extra challenge but man, it deserved a proper dlc.

And facing Malenia in Elden just made me want a Tomoe boss so badly. If Bloodborne, Dark Souls 3 and Elden can have those kick your ass female bosses, then so should Sekiro.
It would also be a perfect opportunity to implement more lightning reversal again because that stuff is one of my favourite mechanics in the game. And let's be honest, you use it 2 times in the entire game and the second time, the game basically does it automatically for you. Then there also the idea of having an Inner Tomoe boss. Considering the other inner bosses were some of the best fights in the game, I doubt they would ♥♥♥♥ up there either.

But considering this ♥♥♥♥ is never gonna happen (at least not from fromsoft), I hope they reuse and expand on this combat in a future game. The basic combat is so great but maybe add more combat arts, add more prosthetics and what you can do with them (if they even would decide to use a prosthetic again, otherwise maybe some other off hand tools) and most important of all, add a weapon wheel or have the ability to key combat arts so you can be flashy AF in fights without having to mod the game. And of course mikiri counter, can't forget about mikiri counter. That stuff is just essential for life.
Miyazaky is a genius. Period.

old news.
Elden Ring is for casuals who like to overlevel....
Sekiro let the studio go all-out and show us how good they are at making a fun game. It had Activision help which Fromsoftware desperately needed to simplify development and streamline production. Elden Ring is a mash-up of prior games, both in terms of literally porting the engine forward, and in terms of repurposed or AI-generated assets and levels.

Play either. They're fun. It's not a "either this or that" situation
I like both games.

Sekiro is more polished because it's PvE only, but gameplay loop is so much fun.

Modding community is dope.
