If your game launches and asks for a CD Key you do not have, please try the following:

Right-click on the game in the Library tab and select View Game CD Key.

This option is not available for all Steam games and a CD Key is not required for all games.

Verify your GCF files.

Could work?

When I first launched it from steam it asked if I wanted to link my steam account and my ubisoft account. I presume you need to do this to be able to access the game :)

Try to update U-play. Delete your current version and go to Ubisoft and download new version. After you done that exit Steam and U-play and restart your PC. Start Steam and U-play and try launch the game. Game should "auto activate" if you have connected your Steam and
U-play account.

Update uPlay and/or run both clients with administrator privillages. This CD key message is a longstanding error that Ubisoft have failed to fix attributed to users running out of date versions of uPlay or not running the clients as admins.

Did not work i have both in admin and newest client

Sorry for you. You have restarted PC? Maybe delete administraters privillages and try again after validated files. Exit Steam and U-play ( end UbisoftGameLauncher.exe in task manager) and start game from Steam. If not working Contact Ubisoft support or refund the game and buy a only U-play code of the game.

Sometimes a Cd key is on the Dvd and created for steam as Copy Protection.

You copy the new made Cd-Key then to Steam and aktivate it.

You never get any CD keys when buying from steam or Uplay directly.
The game should activate automatically during installation.
That also is well known bug with steam.
If you get Uplay version, you will not have any issues like that.

I had this same problem. If you bought the ultimate bundle in the sale, one of the DLC paks is a Ubisoft Activation. When I installed it, and then launched it from the Icon on the desktop for the first time, it said there was no Ubisoft Uplay. I installed that and got the popup for the CD Key.
SOLUTION:
- Uninstall then re-install the games and all that comes with it
- Launch the game for the first time via your Steam Library 'Play' button and not the Desktop icon.
- This will launch the DLC to install the 'Ubisoft Activation'.
- From here, operate as normal.

This is not explained any where or at all. Very confusing and frustrating.

Hope this helps!
