What do Guardians do?
In Dante Station, encounteed Guardians for the first time.
Fortunatelly, I blast them with just 1 shot of my rail gun.

I wonder what they do, though? Well, besides exploding on death.
I don't want to let them live and find out, however. Not on a succesfully going run :D

Well I ended the run, but still don't understand what Guardians do. I killed every one that I encountered in 1 shot.
Guardians are the flying pods right?
They sweep you with a laser that inflicts bleeding every few turns.
Guardians can be a pain if you don't have a powerful piercer like a railgun. They're very tough on their locked form, and while the shot doesn't do much direct damage, it always hits and inflicts bleed (which can cause lots of pain if you're not immune).

They had some "Guardian Carapace 75%" or something like that under their yellow health bar.
I assume they only have armor and no health? And this buff is a damage reduction?
I don't really understand why they exploded in 1 shot though. I had a relic that made do double damage to armor. Maybe that's why?

Gotta be, and yeah I think they are all armor instead of having HP, I wonder if a hacker character could take control of them now that I think about it.
Also, I was wondering, what white health bar means? I saw white health bars on some enemies in Dante's.
I assume it's some sort of temporary shield? From Warlock and something else, maybe?

would be nice if it had to sweep across an arc to hit you, so you could keep moving and out of the way instead of just getting ganked by the beam.

I know, I know, 4 years too late, but this is a great idea.
The way to reduce beam damage is cover, beams don't miss, but the damage is directly reduced by the cover percentage, so you hunker down for the turn they fire.

It's also affected by other source of accuracy reduction - for example, a very fast Jupiter Hell Guy can mitigate most of the damage, especially if moving in to cover.
