Once I found out the whole Joe Gould thing was real, I got interested. Just ordered a copy of the book. Has anyone else read it?

hello, having this issue when talking with Marty Goldwater at the Lighthouse.

I've tried to uninstall and another computer, however, I loose my items after helping the actor everytime. So, at the end i can't open the door at the dinner. Can anyone please help me? I liked the game, but i hate not finishin it.
