I'm having severe lag on steam deck makes populated zones almost unplayable

So I got it to work on the steam deck but now it just lags really hard I've tried lowering the settings and that doesn't seem to change anything anyone have any tips or tricks to get this running at a stable frame rate cuz I keep lagging out so hard I run into monsters and start fighting

I bought a deck not specifically for portable wiz, but it was a large part of the decision. I'm so disappointed with how badly it runs. Enchanting a card, collecting a reagent, harvesting a plant, any interactions like those cause freezes. Loading screens average 15 seconds, making it very difficult to quest with friends. Low pop realms and low graphic settings dont really help.
