3K has the worst battle system out of all Total War games.
The morale of units are so easily broken, that it has taken the fun out of the game.

Battles are short, really short, what's the point in playing battles, you may aswell just auto it.

Units also seem to be on speed, their animations and movement are so ridiculously fast.

Not impressed with this Total War at all.

I've had the most fun battles, I've ever had in a total war game. Admittedly the militia morale change did take some getting used to.

Nah, that's just your opinion OP, majority of players' reviews seems to disagree; or it could be just another vocal minority bait to hook up people to help you bashing this game(because it's about China and most reviews are positives, that makes certain people very upset since the beginning). TWWH has even shorter average battles than 3K, I can finish almost every battle of WH in 5 minutes, including siege battles, with only Elf Archers(By Sigmar I love elf girls), but I didn't see too many people complain, of course that doesn't mean I like short battles.

I on the other hand had some of longest, largest and most intense field battles among all TW games when I played TW3K, I had one battle that my enemy outnumbered me 3:1( AI 10000+ vs me 3000+) , it took me over 50 minutes and lost 3/4 of my troops to win the battle, my generals 1 got killed, 1 got wounded, under hard difficult and extreme large unit size. I never had such battle in any previous TW games.

Difficulty, game modes, unit types, unit sizes and your own skills, even bias, all will affect how the battles perform and how much joy you can get in TW3K, not just morale. However, one thing I do think it's too short or easy is the siege battle, the wall is simply too easy to break through, but it's still more challenging and longer than WH. And of course besides all that is too many fake ugly none-historical female generals in TW3K(almost like a showcase of certain Western ideology), although it can be fixed by mods, WH obviously has better(and sexier) female fighters than TW3K, but that's another story.

I agree, it's still fun and it's a good game overall but it is arcadey and "gamey". Lots of mechanics don't make much sense or are designed around a faster, easier playstyle.

But most people like it and it sold well, mods are the way to go if you want to change things.

There are a couple of issues there. The morale break is much faster in Rome 1 and Attila. 3K would be an average. Battles in 3k actually last too long, which ensures I win, easily, EVERY DAMN BATTLE. So I don't exactly know what your issue is. Is the morale system making your battles too hard?

One thing I really like is the tech tree and the redeploy mechanic, which makes a lot of sense for a game like this. It's nice to be able to increase income by disbanding armies, but also being able to recreate them exactly the same really quickly, especially with the military part of the tech tree, which makes moving armies around a breeze.
