I tried logging out of my Paradox account and then launch, and now i can suddenly play...

Could you try restarting your computer? If this doesn't work following the basic troubleshooting bullet points found on FAQ[forum.paradoxplaza.com]?

I updated my graphics, reinstalled, verified game files, but it just keeps crashing after hitting PLAY. Hopefully they will have a fix by the time I get home from work at midnite.

I just kept restarting the game and it eventually worked. Seems like once it fully boots the first time, the issue is fixed for good.

Does it work if from steam library follow Properties, local files, browse local files, and run AowPF_Debug.exe ?

I had the same issue.
So I checked the file integrity and then re-started the game.
Now it works !

I had a same trouble. Debug.exe was same. The game generated a crash dump. So I had sent dump to paradox support. I hope this is fixed ASAP.

If you are reading this and you have trouble launching, go to launcher and change language settings then switch it back to English. This fixed load screen for me

Edit: Dont waste your time uninstalling and reinstalling try this first

Did you also check if a program like an Anti-Virus is interfering with the game? Anti-Virus program might interfere with the game and thus might need to whitelist the games exe's and content
