The "Beamdog's HD Texture Pack - Override V 1.4.2 [Compiled] (0)" download actually points to the 1.4.1 version for me.
Yes the models are the same, the ptl(s) are separate download. Refresh the page if you do not see them. Combine or put new ptl above.
Are there any override versions instead of the userpatch ones?
There is an override version at the same link.

I can't imagine why anyone would want to do that, though. The userpatch version is very simple to install and uninstall, whereas, if you put the files in override, they become jumbled with everything else.

Having a simple method of backing out the change is especially important in this case, as the artwork doesn't please everyone (even with the community fixes), and might look incongruous to some, given that the rest of the game is not face-lifted.

I imagine that's why Beamdog published the original as a patch that can be uninstalled.

I agree that the userpatch version is the superior method of installing mods. Sadly I haven't found a way to make them work as Workshop mods.

The "Beamdog's HD Texture Pack - Override V 1.4.2 [Compiled] (0)" link still refers to "bdhd_override_1.4.1.7z".

There is no override version of "Beamdog low quality PLT (7)" to test the low res PLT files.
If you're talking about personal use, you can forget about Steam Workshop - just add the userpatch to Documents (where your \saves folder lives). If you really can't make that work on the Steam version, export the files from the .hak using nwhak (ships with the game) into \override.

If you're thinking of publishing the material on Steam Workshop, talk to the authors - I don't know whether they're OK with that.
I noticed that most of my characters and other npcs have the hd upgrade but not all of them. I have the patch folder downloaded to my documents /neverwinter folder and the userpatch that came with it in my root directory of that. I also have the content from my patch in my hak folder but I think this is wrong. I would like if someone could help me with this. I know I have to set up my user patch but I can't put two and two together could someone help me with this ?
So how I see it is that only PC models were changed. Some NPC happen to also use PC models, but not all of them. NPCs that are not using the PC models (they might have their own unique models) are therefore unchanged. This is true for everyone who has this HD pack installed. You are experiencing what everyone else experiences as well. It is not an error on your part, it's just how the HD pack works.
