I saw on the internet that you can get the statue from the cave then talk to the old man to get Sheela's bow but when I go to the cave after recruiting Zaeiyd the yurt is closed so I can't talk to the old man anymore. Is my game bugged?

how do i kill the dragon my archers are ♥♥♥♥ and even with the special bow i only do 3 damage to him. its imposibble. why trow something like this in the game now, its so retarded and unfair. why force the player to use those ♥♥♥♥ mounted archers in so many chapters.
