Abandoning this game due to low animations speed
I'd say 70% of time I spend on "enjoying" sluggish 30s of battle. I have life so playing for 15-20 min a game (a full dota-all-stars game btw) is too much, especially given that game could be 3-4x shorter if we had istant speed-up button and all other intermediate animations cut as short as possible. Look at the Slay the Spire for the inspiration. Thanks

The animations are part of the game, and it is a multiplayer game. As long as BOTH players agree there is already a speed up option.

If your attention spam is too short for it, maybe this game (or any multiplayer game) is not for you and you should focus on single player games where you can skip whatever you wish. The game could actually just send you the results after you set up the units. You don't even need a graphic interface!

I don't see the reason that the speed up option is not available immediately, and if both players decide to increase the speed then so be it? It is a bit annoying that we have to wait to select the increased speed option. It would also be nice if there was a default option to increase the speed that players could check so there vote would automatically get put in without having to consciously click wait for the speed up option to appear.

Seems pretty bad with recent farseer burst fire mode, usually have substantial fps drops when theres more than 3-4 on the field

The reason is because then you'd have people like OP who would just get upset if their opponent didn't also click it right away. In other words, even though it'd just be an option, it'd actually be the expectation for a decent chunk of the playerbase.

I think most other players, especially those trying to improve, would agree that it's super important to carefully pay attention to the first 15 seconds of the battle, since you really want to see whether your formations are working as intended, what's targeting what, whether your follow-up chaff waves are hitting at the right times, etc. Like, that's kind of the whole game, right? Making sure no one feels pressured to skip this part of the battle, while giving players the option to mutually agree to skip "garbage time" at the end when it's often clear who's going to win, is a tidy piece of design, IMO.

Wouldn't you just want to play nothing then? If you have that little time on your hands, then why are you playing video games to begin with? Play a card game or a tabletop skirmish game. You set everything up you roll a dice and then it's over within a few seconds. No animations necessary. You just flip a coin or roll a dice and one side wins. You might also enjoy risk.
I'm not sure you're going to find many games that are faster than 15 minutes.

Then go live that life. If you can't even spare 20 minutes, why bother at all?

In periods of limited time (being a father and all) I just switched to single player games that I could pause and/or save any moment. Problem solved.

A clash royale game ends in about 3 minutes. Maybe that's the game for you.
If your playing Dota you do not have a life.
Wow, the answers are... well.. not all people are perfect especially online, lol.
Anyway, the request is to make the speed up button available from the start and a way to make it default. Those who say its not needed seem to ignore that its available at 30s and often both players hit it on the 31-st second.

There is no request. You said you are abandoning the game because you have the attention spam of a pigeon. So good riddance!
