If your attention spam is too short for it, maybe this game (or any multiplayer game) is not for you and you should focus on single player games where you can skip whatever you wish. The game could actually just send you the results after you set up the units. You don't even need a graphic interface!
The reason is because then you'd have people like OP who would just get upset if their opponent didn't also click it right away. In other words, even though it'd just be an option, it'd actually be the expectation for a decent chunk of the playerbase.
I think most other players, especially those trying to improve, would agree that it's super important to carefully pay attention to the first 15 seconds of the battle, since you really want to see whether your formations are working as intended, what's targeting what, whether your follow-up chaff waves are hitting at the right times, etc. Like, that's kind of the whole game, right? Making sure no one feels pressured to skip this part of the battle, while giving players the option to mutually agree to skip "garbage time" at the end when it's often clear who's going to win, is a tidy piece of design, IMO.
In periods of limited time (being a father and all) I just switched to single player games that I could pause and/or save any moment. Problem solved.
Anyway, the request is to make the speed up button available from the start and a way to make it default. Those who say its not needed seem to ignore that its available at 30s and often both players hit it on the 31-st second.
There is no request. You said you are abandoning the game because you have the attention spam of a pigeon. So good riddance!
