How many centuries you think it will take for the rest?

IIRC, Doddler said that he's opening the rest of Kai can be out by the end of the year.

Here's hoping... Glad MG is doing this work, but having voted back when they were trying to get it through greenlight it's taking eons.

As soon as they have it, I will come back from the future with copies that can only be played for an hour before they get deleted, then sell it on the black market to all the junkies.

While I do feel like the time between entries is a little excessive, some time for a breather can be helpful too. I got into Umineko when all the arcs were out on Steam and binged it for days and days- I feel like I would have gotten more out of it if I had time to reflect inbetween chapters.

Gaps like the last one make it hard to recall the fine details from part to part to try and stitch together what occured. At least with large chunks you are fully in control of whether or not you binge or take breaks and ruminate.

Sure I guess re-reads are an option, but re-reading everything each time they decide to finally grace with a release seems kinda tedious and unenjoyable imo.

At this point ain't it taking them almost as long to touch up and retranslate as it took for the entire original Japanese release process?

Got to remember.
Doddler was doing other things too last year.
Like the Umineko series.

Doddler didn't work on Umineko at all. Actually, almost everything was handled by the witch hunt team with minor help from mg.

Really?
Again?

They've got to stop relying on these third party translations and groups.

Pretty sure even Doddler has a different day job himself. Don't really see the problem with them using the same passionate group for umineko, that did the fan translation before.

It was their translation to begin with, they just wanted to updated it and sell it under mangagamer.

I mean, most of the translators, editor, programmers, etc are freelancers and mg just contracts them. So technically mangagamer's whole business model relies on 'third party' staff.

MG has a translation team of their own.
What I said was that I'm disappointed they outsourced the work for a second time with Umineko. At least I was told that the script for the more recent release was not a copy-paste of the old witch hunt script.
I'm well aware that the first time they published Umineko their store sold a japanese BGI version and pointed customers to the Witch Hunt patch. I still have that version.

Uhh, as I said earlier, mangagamer mostly works with freelancers and they don't have many in-house translators. In fact, the Higurashi team is entirely made out of freelancers afaik, so your criticism doesn't really hold much water here. Like, their only in-house translators (afaik) are Kouryuu and maybe Good Haro? I know Arunaru used to be one, but he quit a while ago and became a freelancer.
You claim as if the Witch Hunt team is less capable than others just because they were fantranslators once, which is nonsensical when you consider that many translators where fantranslators back in the day.

I only care for the 7th one, series could have ended there as far as I care. Last chapter is trash.
Ohagi-Chan 17 Jul, 2018 @ 3:00pm
Series could have ended with no resolution whatsoever?

But Matsuri is one of the best chapters.
