Once the game is ready, we will open the marketing funnels and that should fix the player count, but as for now, we keep it on the downlow :)
I am in discord and with more than 1K hours in social deduction games (TOS TOL and mindnight) I am sure to give some feedback :D
As to player base. The Devs have this weird idea that they can have no attention or player base up until release and then kajillions of people will buy in on Halloween and everything will be all good. Anybody that took a single marketing class in college can tell you this is a terrible idea. There's a lot of red flags on the ground here, I can't tell you how many times a developer has explained to me how they have a perfect strategy designed by an elite marketing team only to go out of business within months of release. This is just something that happens in the Gaming Industry, people pretend to know what they are doing because they think nobody can tell the difference.
But the game shows a LOT of potential, and im glad to have bought it.
Your idea would be pretty great for the Direwolf launch maybe. Which is the 31st if im not mistaken.
Allow people acces to the game, for free, for a weekend. They will probably buy it afterwards. I mean i already prefere this over throne of lies (Town of Salem still bae tho :P )
But to be honest I (and devs dont get me wrong, i do believe you work hard and i think you make an awesome game) doubt that this game will be "release ready" by the set deadline... based on all the bugs and stuff ive seen so far.
But then again, rome wasnt build in a day either.
I am having fun with this game, and i hope it continues to grow!
