I have absolutely no problem with that steam version, it's more a port than a remaster, I can play with several controllers (one usb snes shaped with usb port for example) and the HD look is just a smooth filter, It's only 15 dollars. It's still the same game from 1996 and it has been released 6 years ago on PC (and it being updated)
The only thing missing is the bestiary, but whatever.
Like it's written, you're probably the only one having this 'problem", it's not a remake, it's a port.
I don't have a snes anymore and I never had a nintendo DS, that is my only way to play it on PC without emulator and rom.
They should consider a nintendo switch version I would totally dig it.

There was a fan made patch a while back that fixed the tile issue, dunno where it is now or if it still works.
Would love them to give this a good remake like what was done with the Dragon Quest games (without the censorship). A game this good deserves some love!
