It's not a remake, it's a remaster... learn the difference.

I have absolutely no problem with that steam version, it's more a port than a remaster, I can play with several controllers (one usb snes shaped with usb port for example) and the HD look is just a smooth filter, It's only 15 dollars. It's still the same game from 1996 and it has been released 6 years ago on PC (and it being updated)
The only thing missing is the bestiary, but whatever.
Like it's written, you're probably the only one having this 'problem", it's not a remake, it's a port.
I don't have a snes anymore and I never had a nintendo DS, that is my only way to play it on PC without emulator and rom.
They should consider a nintendo switch version I would totally dig it.

OP is correct, the tiles look misaligned and you can clearly see the seams when using remastered textures. It bothered me so much i just played on original graphics (which i was fine with), and yes it does stutter when you move diagonally. You all have this issue as it's the game itself and not some hardware issue, go look more closely (especially in forest maps). The SNES version with the right filters on it looks way better and doesn't have tile issues, they could have just done something like that.

There was a fan made patch a while back that fixed the tile issue, dunno where it is now or if it still works.

Would love them to give this a good remake like what was done with the Dragon Quest games (without the censorship). A game this good deserves some love!

Instead of complaining about your imaginary squares on the floor, why don't you start a movement to usher in a Remake? Do that and say goodbye to your squares on the floor.

as a fan of series i agree with OP, a lazy port, horrendous choices

ppl defending this port is the real issue of industry.
