The thing I like most about this game is the immersive experience I feel while playing. You can really get caught up in the lore while progressing through the campaigns, which also provide a strategic challenge. To be honest, I only realized this after replaying some campaigns on harder difficulties, where last stand missions became truly intense battles, and every move had to be carefully planned to survive—just like they're described in the story. Firstly let's point out the obvious, this is a 20+ year old game, so making reference to the graphics is not relevant.

What I will delve into is the game play and available options (from my limited time on it so far).

Being a turn based and heavily strategy based conquest game, it has held itself extremely well over the decades, it has a very deep minion selection for each of the group that you may choose to play, and there are quite a few groups to choose from.
Each unit has pro/con depending on terrain and challenging units, the ability to level them up making them significantly stronger, and as the campaign or free play progresses, the challenging units increase accordingly.

With up to 4 players in a co-op, with the right time management, it makes for an unbelievable experience.

Replayability : Yes, especially with Co-Op
Drawbacks : Nothing detrimental

This is a pretty cool strategy game that reminds me a lot of the board games I used to play with my dad when I was a kid. The campaigns are all interesting and enjoyable. I'd definitely recommend this if you're into old school strategy games.
