Why's the ending suck so bad
Like, nothing is resolved at the end of this game, what am I missing? Like, the ending of Danganronpa 2: Goodbye despair only clears up who Izuru Kamakura is and how Junko made her reappearance, and the Danganronpa 3 anime just shows us Monacas defeat on the side, and in such a light that it seems unimportant. We dont get a look at how Nagito shapes Monaca into the next ultimate despair, or Komaru and Tokos journey to actually defeating her. It's such an unsatisfying ending for this game and I'm so disappointed by it...

I've also noticed that this is a major trend in many games, shows and other media. Nothing ever gets resolved and the endings are always some cop-outs or setups for something else. Having an ending is basically a lost art nowadays (last ~15 years).

if only the game ended when Komaru broke that controller...

we'd get a far superior follow up...

thats the thing though is that to get any context out of this game you need to watch the anime

This game sets things up, and I think it does it well. I was pretty excited to watch the Danganronpa 3 anime after finishing this because this game made it look like big things were about to happen.
Not only was there only one episode dedicated to continuing this game's story, it didn't even resolve anything! It just got everything and threw it in a dumpster. The anime is truly terrible.
I still think UDG has the best ending out of all the four games because THH just ends without revealing anything outside, which is not bad, just a little frustrating because everyone wanted to see the outside world, DR2's ending makes no sense unless you watch the Danganronpa 3 anime to realize that Izuru was never infected with despair to begin with, meaning he would have had the free will to do anything after getting out of the simulation, and DRV3 leaves most things ambiguous, though it heavily leans on the entire premise of Chapter 6's reveals being lies if you rewatch the first Prologue after finishing the game.

I dont know i really think that V3 was the perfect end to the danganronpa series. a rejection of both hope and despair, in order to destroy a system perpetuating and romanticizing misery. I think its really thematic to have the survivors choose apathy, a third option, in a series where we are so used to seeing dichotomies. just my opinion though.

There is no need. Game ends on a good note with them staying there to fix everything up iirc. Thats good enough for me
