how do you get rid of the censorship if possible ?

So I have owned the game for several years on PC, but never really cared for this game until wanting to play through it with my boyfriend (mainly just as something new). That said, I was going to go for 100% this playthrough with him, and realized I will be hitting a roadblock at the very end of the game, the "Jumped In" achievement. I've been playing this game for years but for some reason it's been really buggy lately. I've experienced crashes, performance issues, audio issues and the main issue is the constant FREEZING!! Does anyone know why this has happened?? I feel like I'm losing my mind......
