A short and pleasant metroidvania. Not great, not bad. Even on difficulty, is mid-easy, except for last dungeon, imho, which is a difficult peak.
Graphic and sounds are ok. Movement is very slow, and combat is very bland and plain.
Puzzles and platforming are ok, despite controls are not very pixel perfect.

super fun retro styled game. satisfying bosses and movement especially once you get to the second dungeon.

This game was mid - not so offensive that I wanted to drop it, but not so good that I really wanted to keep going. I completed it, but it was a battle of wills until I turned on the Game Assist options to make deaths less punishing. The game confuses tediousness with difficulty - there are a lot of cool concepts at play, but by the end of the game each room is a platforming puzzle, and a misstep means an instant death and backtracking through all of the previous rooms to give the current room another go. Turning off the "go back to the last checkpoint every time you die" mechanic trivialized a lot of the final gauntlet, but I feel it's a valid way to play when the game tries to be difficult for the sake of difficulty. It would have been worth it if the game's ending was building to something, but both the normal and the secret endings feel unfinished, like our quest didn't matter. I'm a lover of Metroidvanias, and this one falls short of the genre.
