Any game that involves infinite enemies is a hard no from me. I refuse to play anything that has infinite enemies in it. It's SO boring. Why do game developers keep thinking this is fun?

I thoroughly enjoyed the 2nd Edition tabletop game during the late 1990s and had always been a fan of GW lore and designs and some of their games, so for me this is a really good adaptation of the board game. At first it felt slightly slower paced than I'd like but I grew to like that - remembering that it is a turn based game based off an older tabletop game.

There was an issue on loading the game on my new Win 11 PC - but easily fixed with a command line properties value set in the Steam client as per information available ( add this if the game doesn't load properly cmd /c set OPENSSL_ia32cap=:~0x20000000 && %command% ) but other than that it's been a good fun game.

Some of the user interface felt clunky at first, but I got used to it reasonably quickly.

A very good adaptation of the tabletop games.

One negative is if you don't do a mission perfectly, you will fail it. Game does not allow mistakes. But that is not a giant problem, you can just redo the mission and most likely you will do it perfectly the second time. Still would be nice to have the ability to explore the level a bit and be allowed a mistake or two before being completely wiped out in one turn.

Second negative is the rolls are fake, just like in say Civilization 3, they are pre determined. If you miss a shot and reload you will keep missing forever, the % number is a lie, the roll is a lie. I am fine with not being able to cheese with reloading, but I don't like when games are lying. This is not necessary. Makes saving the game mid mission pointless, why even allow it? You f-up a turn, miss every shot, get wiped out in one enemy turn and reaload to try again it will just go the same or worse, just start over the whole thing.

Third negative is that the game stopped working after 3.5h of gameplay, it's just stuck on loading screen forever every time I try turning it on. So can't even return it now. If it starts working again at some point I'm not removing this negative, this should just not happen, fix your shtty games GW.

Fourth - infinite enemies, never a good idea to have that is a game, just boring, tedious.

Fifth - so far most of the game consists of very repetetive fights againtgs the same enemy type (they minor differences like number of action points, but it's still the same monster) and walking around the overworld map, which is just a bunch of points connected by lines on a black backrgound. Almost no story there.

Sixth negative - the "non story" missions that you still need to do most of the time are repetetive, game will throw the exact same mission, same map, same everything at you, now that is lazy work.

One positive - it's Warhammer 40k so it has a pretty cool vibe. xd
