What exactly is this? New units for the Space Marines? It doesn't say anywhere.
Also, what unique gameplay mechanics? Also doesn't say.
So you get to choose, use normal or primaris, or you just get all units in one techtree?
It's a unit pack for Space marines.

Use can use both.
So it just made space marine techtree twice the size?
Weird choice. A massive unit pack for a single faction? I am not even sure if it is would be a viable idea to do similar stuff for all other factions (though I'd have prefered those to a Primaris pack)... I hope they go back to the old model of faction expansion / unit pack, even if the Space Marine's roster is bloated now compared to the others.

Subfactions would have made more sense than this.

If you could choose, playing oldschool or primaris it would be logical, now its just "Yeet the balance, give us money"

I was talking with someone and we agreed that we wouldn't mind if they did this for the other three starting factions, then saved unit packs for the other seven to potentially lower costs.

Subfactions with different mechanics would have been neat, and at the least I was hoping for an extra building or two for the SM to help with productions.

Ideally I'd still like a hero pass for each faction too.

Not a bad idea - but that would mean three more massive packs for factions that already have a solid number of units (isn't it currently already roughly the same amount of units if you count the dlcs?`)... not that I would mind a few more. It might be an interesting option for core game owners that just want to flesh out specific factions ... not so much for those folks already a bunch of unit dlcs.

For the minor factions, this appears problematic - not to mention for game balance in general ... and a potential hurdle for new ones. And it would take a lot of time that's not invested into other potential content (I'd really like a hero dlc as well ... and maybe a few more dlcs that expand other areas - such as the quest system, locations, or other game features).

If they release new factions (let us pray to the Chaos Gods for their Daemons) ... should they now need a similarly huge roster as the Space Marines? I would rather see this as a one-off ...

Really, massive new content for specific factions would make much, much more sense in the form of subfactions that alter the rules and change a faction's roster - not just add to it.

This is what gamesworkshop is doing to all the games that have a license for 40k. If you have Adeptus Astartes you must have primaris to sell more primaris minis.
More units is always welcome
I am very glad that it is after all a unit pack for existing space marines, not a new separate faction. Primaris are certainly not unique enough to be a separate faction.
Anyone using the latest Beta update patch for the game if the DLC units are not showing up in the game and in the tech tree try disabling the Beta update which fixed the issue for me.
BUG CRASH, many people meet this crash even in new game
StateMachine.cpp:159:void_cdecl
gladius::scene::unit::state::StateMachine::animateAction(constclass gladius::world::action::Attack &):Assertion"worldUnit.getOpponentTile()" failed: No opponent tile.

It seem it happen randomly, i load 3 last turn save, it can happen at any future turn, sometime i go over the bug, next time i crash... and it happen in AI turn, seem AI do something with each other and cause bug
Please fix ASAP, i can't even play the game now
