So at the time of writing this I'm about one semester from graduating college and being thrust into adulthood. I have no idea what I'm doing and it's been feeling like I rapidly am spiraling towards a point in my life where everything is going off the rails. I also live a couple hours from the rust belt in a small rural college town. I waited until autumn at the behest of a friend who loves this game.
The game is adorable and definitely nails the small-rust-belt-town vibe. The setting feels like somewhere I've been before, I can almost completely accurately nail down each character to a close friend I have in real life, and the story genuinely made me cry at a couple points with the emotional beats. You are going to feel things during this game, especially if you can relate to any of the experiences.
I think this game genuinely changed something in me. At a point where everything is changing for me and I feel like I'm falling, this game reminded me that as long as I can hold onto something I love, even to get me through each day, I'll be alright. I love my friends and I love this town and I love my life. Thank you to the developers of this game for giving me an experience that I happened to go through right when I was at my lowest point, and making it in a way that brought me to one of my highest.

this game has an amazing artstyle and animations, a ridiculous yet grounded plot with realistic writing, a wealth of optional content that will keep you busy for months, and a pansexual cat!!! what's not to love
