very good game. this review might be all over the place but stick with me please

the game might seem slow at first, but don't let that stop you. in all honestly, it gave me a bit of poptropica vibes, where you're jumping on buildings and trying to figure out what the heck you have to do to progress the story

as someone who's currently in their 20s and has changed their major three times, mae is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ relatable character. seeing everyone already having jobs and moving on with their life while you're just stuck there trying to figure out what you want to do with yours. and don't forget parents tryna get you to get a job yourself. 10/10 i love her so much

the other characters are also really cool as well. i followed bae and mae's story line and i legit loved it so much. it really highlights the fact that you can't know what everyone is going through, and how tough relationships can be at times

i also loved the mystery aspect of the game. how it doesn't tell you much until the very end where it hits you with so many turns. very cool. though i wish we did get a bit more insight on some backstory tbh

overall, very good game. highly recommend

I've played this game twice in my life, both times I never reached the ending. This is not because the game is bad, I simply got what I wanted out of the game both times. The game is essentially a walking simulator, with some other interactive elements that keep your attention, the gameplay is not the star of the show though. The writing in this game is phenomenal, the characters are dynamic and you start to feel like you know these people like an old friend should. This game has a special part in my heart due to my second play-through, where I was on the verge of failing out of college due to a drug addiction and was at the lowest point I had ever been at. I was really able to connect with Mae, due to her circumstances, and could see myself in her, which eventually let me begin a long self-introspection and the beginning of pulling myself out of the deep hole I put myself in. Since then, things have gone a lot better, but I can't find myself finishing the game at this point because of the deep connections I built with it during that time. I strongly recommend giving the game a shot, especially if you are a troubled young adult.

This game gave me an existential crisis.
