Paradox can be buggy, make sure to use workshop.
From steam. Judging by the other responses looks like I wasn't the only one and they need to redownload or something.
All mine are installed through Steam. When I start the game, the mod manager says there are no installed mods. They don't show up at all.
I haven't checked to see if the problem has been fixed since my first post.
The why is because surviving mars uses a dumb update system that requires the modder to update with current patch along with it. Many games like stellaris have this annoying issue. We just have to wait for the mods to be willing to update with the patch...
This statement is disingenuous. I havent seen you in the modders forums or discords, so i assume you dont know what happens during patch releases.
First off, there is no system as you put it used by SM that causes this effect. If you buy the game on Steam you use steam workshop, on Paradox, you use Paradox Workshop, On GoG, you are are on your own. If you have some sort of mods disappearing or download issue, its the platform doing that, not the game.
Second, there was no SM game update.
The issue some folks are having is the steam client since it updated a day or so ago and it has been noticed on many many other games, if you scan their forums. On the Paradox forums they are also discussing it.
Lastly, a new patch does not require a modder to update anything unless two things change.
The code the modder references changes and the modders code is no longer functional, or the overall game code has changed so significantly that the minimum game rev for a mod turns it off.
That second one happened with DaVinci patch turning everything off forcing every modder to scramble.
In response to that black eye, the devs offer modders access to pre patch beta and all active modders seem to take advantage of that having code ready day one of any new patch.
If anyone is having mod download issues, go to the steam discussions and post there, or watch the paradoxplaza.com forums.
You have no idea how wrong this comment is. Clausewitz Engine has a serious issue of this and is well known too. It breaks many things, shaders, custom scripts, etc as well which require sometimes re upload. Unity has the same problem if devs want to update later year from 2017 LTS to 2018 LTS any uploads will have to be re uploaded. Stop acting like a dumb know it all when you clearly don't know anything of what you are talking about, especially about me.
