When i start the game, an error with hieroglyphs appears, when you click ok, the game closes, what should I do?

For some reason Lucy refuses to run on my PC. if I try to run as admin, program does not even launch. if I go into properties> Compatibility and in settings tick "Run in 640x480 screen resolution." So I turn on the Full Screen option, and I'm given these massive black bars at the top and bottom. Cursor is actually constrained within these bars. Feels very weird.
