Enable steam input. For whatever reason, at least for my playstation dualshock 4 controller, inputs don't work properly unless it's enabled, which it won't do automatically for this game. Hopefully helps other people play this game like it did for me, I got stuck at the first door because left stick up didn't seem to work properly....
