Achievements just are being given to me, is anyone else having this issue?

Is there any way to cut out the intro logos/videos upon boot? If I start the game in Game mode it will never get to the main menu. Just black screen with a game tab open and video tab open when you hit the Steam button. However in Desktop mode... I can click over to the video window, then back to the game window and the video starts playing behind it. Doing this multiple times for each logo video.
