Third party translations howto
From version 1.0.5 the game supports 3rd party translations, this is how to do it:

a) Download the current english strings from here:
http://planetbase.madrugaworks.com/files/strings.zip

b) Rename the files replacing "en" by your language 2 letter ISO code, for example for russian this woulld be "ru_main.xml", "ru_tutorial.xml", "ru_help.xml"

c) Translate the files, note that the "language_name" string in "en_main.xml"
is what your laguage is going to be called in the settings screen

d) Make sure you save the xmls as UTF8

e) Put the files in My Documents/Planetbase/Strings

f) Now the new language should appear in the settings menu

We will probably add proper support for Steam Workshop to download new languages at some point, for now you can just reply to this thread and post your translations here.

Thank you!

Hi, that's good news. I am currently making Finnish translations. I will update this post when i am ready. There's quite much to translate!
Eli suomennosta tulossa! Kohderyhmä taitaa olla aika marginaalinen mutta hyvää harjoitusta tämä on :steamhappy:

Looks like scandic characters don't work. Any solutions for them? Characters ä,ö,å etc. Edit: replace "ä" with "ä" and "ö" with "ö".

Thanks for the offer, but i've already translated almost all of it. Only en_help.xml is left :)
Looks like my problem with scandic characters is in my files. Some program obviously did something to the files, credits seem to have some distorted characters too even though i didn't touch them.

Might be an encoding issue. UTF-8 vs ISO-8859-1 differences or some other form of necromantic witchcraft.

Yeah, that was it. I opened the file in a text editor that allows to select encoding. When i selected UTF-8 and saved it, it works perfectly. Sorry about the confusion!
