Be warned, I did this and for the most part it's absolutely fine - but with one exception. Automatron is a bit buggy. No NPC speech in that DLC and I have to rely on subtitles, plus final battle in the Mechanists Lair bugged out a couple of times, though to be fair it's always been a bit buggy and might not be connected with the Depot files.
Otherwise it's fine, no issues, all of my 200+ mods working as intended.
Did you remember to kill off the CC content?
Did you download the correct version of the Script Extender?
I've done it a similar way, meaning using the depot files etc. However, I would not know if there is a way that could be considered any better, if downgrading is needed..?
On my downgrade, probably (?) not related to the method, I went to Concord at the beginning and when you approach the museum where Preston is waving asking you to grab the musket to join them inside.......well no Preston on the balcony and so I just picked up the musket and went inside.....It continued ok.
You mean delete the Cc content that came with the update? Did that.
Not playing with script extender. I just want to get CK working, for that I need Steam not GOG 163 and steam CK
have the same issue now , since my CK automatically updated while i blocked fo4 from updating with only using F4SE to start it and now the CK doesn't start anymore.
Would the depot thing also solve that problem for CK?
Not sure if anyone is trying to run both versions side by side (with or without their CK) but if doing that I would start with using two totally separate install directories.
I use Mod Manager to have separated saves and profiles. The OG is a copy and the NG a Steam install.
The OG being a version of the game before the update to NG.
Personally I had a problem where trying to use it also obliterated my normal ini files in my modded game but that was before the update occurred at all. I'd look into finding an archive of the CK for 163 rather than trying to hope that downgrading it would touch that aspect, as I doubt very much it would.
