I thought it was really good, at least as far as short horror games go, kinda has that 80s vintage feel to it, very similar to Puppet Combo. You can beat it in about 60 minutes for one ending, and you can get another one by replaying the last chapter, although it won't let you reset at the last part if you die, so it might take a few attempts (not actually difficult really, just slightly tedious)

Generally these games tend to be on a cheaper side even from experienced devs, but this one I felt had a surprisingly good production to it, lots of cutscenes, nice retro texture and death animations, good detail in the environment, as well as delightfully uncanny character models. Just very funky vibes overall, can be slightly tedious as it makes you do various chores and backtracking, but it's okay, that is how campy horror games usually go, making you do generic tasks until something happens. I didn't find the story that interesting, although I still think the dialogue and the characters were enjoyable enough, made me laugh a few times with its retro references, in particular the NPCs and their costumes.

The arcade had a nice visual design to it, not too dark like many games, nicely contrasted with neon effects, even letting you play a few mini-games toward the end. My favorite part of the game were the random characters at the party, not sure if they were manually designed but I really liked some of the costumes. The jump scares and the tension were decently made, it's just that most of that happens at the very end, so there is not a lot happening to keep you on the edge like a few similar games, there is a chasing sequence but it's pretty easy.


(+) Very nice retro aesthetic, good texture, not too dark, nice death animation, lots of uncanny and silly looking characters

(+) Has a few endings, optional achievements, and a some decently made mini-games

(+) Personally I laughed at the campy references, many jokes for old gamers


- maybe add another load point at the start of the party, and one when the chase starts. It might be slightly unclear that you making progress by winning the laser tag

- I assume you intentionally leaving large parts of the game without music, but even when there was a source of music I felt maybe it could be featured more prominently

Overall Thoughts: 8/10

There are a lot of similar horror games on steam, maybe even hundreds at this point, but I thought this one had more effort to it overall, good detail in the environment and cutscenes. Not the most interesting narrative for sure, but pretty decent experience for about 60 minutes with many funny references, you can tell it's a passion project, had a nice balance of horror and jokes, I thought it had enjoyable vibes.

Superb horror game. The chase parts are intense, and the killings are even more intense. The bad ending is so messed up. I loved it. take you about 72 minutes to beat with both endings. There little mini games like air hockey (challenging for me lol), and basketball.

Already played the game on itch.io and liked it a lot! I decided to support Liminal Road for further great games. ^-^/
I liked they added some stuff in the Steam version I think. :o
