Is this game still active/is it worth going back to it?

I used to play tons of RO2 back then.
Sadly I remember people played always the same ♥♥♥♥♥♥ maps over and over again, and I would rejoice when I had a chance to play Winterwald.

Anyway, how much of an active playerbase RO2 has for someone on central european/eastern european timezone?

Bad news, the game is cooked. There is some subhuman ddosing the more active servers to the point it is half unplayable. The ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ has been going on for a year

Revival just recently shut down, and that's the moment something died in me. It was the best server we had yet it did not live up to it's Revival name.

There are a couple servers with a bunch of players, it should be enough to get your fix and it's better if you can bring friends with you. I'd be more worried about the skill ceiling since the remaining playerbase seems to be mostly made up by veterans. I'm coming back myself after some years and boy it's rough.
