Multiplayer issues since update

So I've tried playing multiplayer since the update and have had the same issue every time. First, the other person I can see type in chat but they can't see me type. Second, I can see their character but they can't see mine, I'm a ghost. Third, the other player cannot open chests for anything. This happened every multiplayer match I've had since the update....

Hello everyone. Over the next few months we will be expanding upon multiplayer for Better Late Than Dead. this includes increasing player count, improving performance and we are considering server options for players so game worlds can stay online 24/7.
