Terrible for new players. There is no tutorial or explanation on how to play or even what buttons to use. They have this guilty gear notation AND some default xbox like controller scheme at play AT THE SAME TIME. Plus many alternate control schemes. So forget looking up how to play on a playstation controller, ur basically stuck trying to figure out what is what on ur own and then trying to remember what A meas in guilty gear notation and what A means in the xbox controller notation and what this all means in terms of ur playstsation controller and the control scheme u have selected....OH MY GOD.

i HAVE NO IDEA HOW TO PLAY. U read the dang move list and try to click the buttons that create what sorta resembles the name of the move. That's how u learn to play. And u want to learn what burst or RC does and how to use it? THERE IS NO EXPLANATION IN THE DANG GAME WHATSEOVER HOW TO USE THESE. All you can really do as a new player is the story mode...and oh my god is it slow. It's just text...2 second delay....text....2 second delay...everyone just shows up to fight eachother in this dumb way nobody dies or anything like that. It's like the feudal japan anime where people just fight for the sake of fighting nonstop no end in sight no strategic defeat or win is possible over anyone ever.

It's not for new players whatsoever. The story isn't going to entice you either. This is for guilty gear vets thats it. I've won like 2 games....1 ranked....1 unranked....I have no clue how to counter the combo play of other vet players there's no tutorial I can find or explanation I can find. Idiots keep linking to this guide showing the moveset....I KNOW THE MOVESET THATS LITERALLY THE ONLY PART OF THIS GAME THAT IS EXPLAINED. I WANT TO KNOW HOW TO BURST AND RC BUT THOSE TUTORIALS ASSUME U KNOW HOW!! HOWW!?!?!? the FK?!?!?! HOW WOULD I KNOW THAt?!!??

The whole stupid community is around the vets even the tutorials. It makes 0 sense whatsoever. If you can run strive play that, it has actual tutorials in it. This story content is completely skippable even if ur a vet GG player. The online is fine I guess if u know how to play, its pretty responsive, seems to have 'enough' players to keep u going anyways.

When you find players your skill level the matches are fun, but this is so rare at this point I don't think it worth your time as a new player whatsoever. Even just as "I know how guilty gear plays finally" guide I don't really recommend it. Just buy a supercomputer and play strive, that's really what this boils down to. Forget trying to ply this crap on a D pad and expect to break ur keyboard keys if its just a std laptop membrance pad.

THIS IS MY FIRST FIGHTING GAME AND THESE CONTROLS SUCK seriously who the fk thoughup these controls they are terrible. Look at moba games those are simplistic yet complex. This is the opposite: complex yet simple....like WHY? Why is default run requiring double tap? Walk should be double tap. Tank controls that make no sense. EVen jumping sucks...literally up or 45 in either direction that's all u get, trying hitting diagonals on a dpad for this game its ridiculous. Grabbing people is ludicrous too on a dpad. u want to run at them and grab forward? Good luck doing that. u have to double tap into them, STOP, then single tap AND HEAVY SLASH key them. Half the time it registers as HEAVY SLASH not grab, so terrible ur better doing backwards grabs Anytime an enemy runs at me I try and grab and....NOPE, they get the grab of course not me, mbe this is a connection issue or something but thats the experience for u its not fun.

Had some fun games like I said but I'm done. I can't even geet into the story mode its either too easy or insanely hard or too short...AT RANDOM at that. So expect any match to be beyond ur capability or pointlessly dumb and u just spam 1 key to win. fighting Dizzy as Aba 3/4 in....like wtf is this!?!? She regens hp and has 5x my hp and kill me in 4 hits. KIND OF A JUMP IN DIFFICULTY U KNOW
