The JP Version from Authorized Retailers(w/Tax} is effectively $11 - This is an over 200% Upcharge.

And keep in mind you are NOT paying for the English Localization.. There are currently no active Contracts for an ENG TL or Localization, this is just for the base Game that supports every major Eastern Language as of V4 of Stellar Code.

China is one of the Largest Economies in the World under the United States, w/lots of Otaku Support & they're currently paying as low as $9(Less than JPY/YEN) & this actually makes sense because there are that many people to potentially sell to in China since it has one of the worlds biggest populations - Per Capita.

Most of East Asia is paying under $13 for this work which is fair valuation, with the US Dollar being as strong as it is.

I see absolutely no reason why the game is being given a 'Foreigner Tax' of 200% or higher.

(I'm not opposed to the US or Western Markets being charged more, as that's the nature of the Games Industry atm.. It's not the fact that I and others will pay more in valuation, economics is more complex than that; the issue is how much more)

If Stellar Code was $17.99 - This would not be Controversial, but you will drop nearly $30 on this title w/Zero Expectations of the Story's Quality nor a Translation Release Window - Despite clear interest of the Developers to obtain one.


This is my first attempt at investigative journalism, with that said the review will sit at Negative to warn potential Western buyers even after(big if) it receives a translation not to even consider purchasing until the price drops to what the overall market would consider 'Fair Valuation' - Because under absolutely no observable Economic Metric should the United States Dollar taken advantage of this much, by an Indie Developer of all people.
