Release Notes - v0.20.0

Hey Hard Hats!

This will be the final update before our first content release! Keep an eye out for the forklift patch coming by the end of this week, which we're extremely excited for! We wanted to get this done for this release, but it's requiring a little bit more polish before we're in a position where we're happy to release it, but trust us it'll be worth the wait.

This update, along with the additions, brings a large list of bug fixes, which we hope has caught up with everything reported so far. As always, please feel free to share with us in our Discord any issues you come into.

Additions

Burger Store

- Added the burger store!
- Each in-game day the burger store will have 4 items available.
- You can buy 1 item per day from this selection that provides a passive effect for that day.
- Effects range from buffs (like stock speed increase) to counter-sabotage benefits.
- Play each in-game day to discover all available items!

Casino

- Added an ATM to deposit personal money into your business funds.
- Future plans include expanding this with a dedicated bank for loans and more.

Sabotage

- Players can now kick each other.
- Kicking has a 50% chance to make the other player drop their currently held item.
- Ragdoll effects are coming in a future update!

Players

- Updated animation controller for better flexibility (important for upcoming forklift support).
- Synced tablet usage: you can now see other players viewing their tablet.

Smaller Additions

- Store NPCs now wave when you enter. It’s small, but we think it adds charm.

Bug Fixes

Lighting

- Fixed overly dark lighting and harsh shadows introduced in previous updates.

Time

- Fixed an issue where time would auto-start when changing days.
- We may revisit this in the future for design reasons.

Networking

- Fixed tutorials not starting for new players joining in-progress games.
- Fixed customers not visiting stores on first day for late joiners.
- Fixed clothing and personal money not syncing for new players joining mid-game.
- Fixed players joining mid-game not having store aisles set up.
- Fixed missing bills for players joining mid-session.
- Fixed a bug allowing more than 4 players to join a game.
- Fixed checkout counter sync issues that caused problems when saving/loading or joining sessions.
- This should solve most spawning issues—but please continue to report anything you see!

Weather

- Removed the 'meteor shower' weather type (with falling stars).
- It didn’t meet visual standards and may be reworked later.

invisible building?

idk if its my laptop or the game but everytime i look at a certain angle or go inside my store everything turns invisible so i cant play the game, i have only tried the demo though

Release Notes - v0.19.3

Hey Hard Hats!

We’ve just pushed out v0.19.3, and this update brings a ton of quality-of-life fixes, some serious clean-up on save issues, and introduces a whole new way to blow off steam after a long day running the store – welcome to the Casino!

Thanks again for all your bug reports, feedback, and amazing support! You guys are helping shape the game every step of the way. Keep it coming!

Here’s what’s new:

Additions

Time

We've changed how time works, your store will still automatically close at 9pm, but we now allow time to run until 2am to allow for some after-day activities!
This will be expanded upon in the future (we have a few plans for this, namely – players having homes where a good sleep affects your productivity the next day).

Casino

Added a casino!
The casino is only open after your store closes for the day (9pm onwards), and will close at 2am.
You can use your personal money at the casino to try and win big.
Currently we only have blackjack and slot machines but we plan to add more games to this with coming releases.

Beta Branch

We've added a beta branch that you can opt into. This is to see anything upcoming – but will be very prone to bugs! Use at your own risk.

Customers

When a purchase is less than $10, a customer will no longer give $100; the max they'll give is $50. In the future, we'll enable card/cash only checkouts.

Tablet

When purchasing items/licenses in the stock screen you can now see the market price for the item.

Items

Applied a discount to higher stocked items in the store, so that buying more gives you more of a discount.

Bug Fixes

Audio

Fixed a bug where when it started to rain, the audio would bug out for a few moments.

Deliveries

Deliveries persisting between saves is now more stable. If you encounter any errors please let us know.

Items

Box Beams have been resized slightly. We're still working on this and will provide more updates in the leadup to our first item on our roadmap. However, they should now fit correctly on more shelve types.
Earth auger market price and base purchase price has been updated so that it's not massively overpriced.

Spawning

Stability updates between loading saves. Please report any more bugs that you find with items disappearing when loading and the replication. You can use the support channel or make a ticket, thank you!

Coming in the next patch

Keep an eye out in the coming days as we add the 'Burger Store'
The burger store will contain a rotating selection of burgers that give you certain buffs & abilities for the day ahead. Use them strategically to outwit your opponents and have the best day possible
ATM for depositing personal money into your business money, useful for when you win big

Hey Hard Hats!

We’ve just pushed out v0.18.0, and this update brings some solid improvements and a few fun additions. Employees are a little less chaotic (for now), competitive scoring is fixed, and we’ve smoothed out a bunch of quirks with customers, furniture, and multiplayer interactions.

Here’s what’s new:

Additions

Employees

Employees will no longer cause chaos in your store and throw boxes on the floor if they have a warehouse shelf they can put their box on! In future updates this may change if they're upset though...

Vending Machines

Added a price display at the top, so you can keep track of what prices your competitors are using!

Furniture

Added a placeable lamp that you can use to light up your store. Will turn on/off when you use your light switch.

Bug Fixes

Competitive Multiplayer

Fixed an issue where the leaderboard at the end of the day was giving the same amount of reward to everyone, regardless of their scoring.
Fixed an issue where other players could change the sections of your shelves to their own.

Customers

Fixed an issue where a customer deciding what to do, would choose two things at once, and become confused.
Fixed an issue where customers would more often than not leave a review for how long they waited in a queue.
Resolved issues where a customer queueing wouldn't progress due to the customer in front of them being affected.

Employees

Resolved an issue where employees holding a box at the end of the day, wouldn't drop it when the day changed, causing the box to stay stuck in the air.
Fixed stability of employees – sometimes they were jittering around the place.

Interactables

Fixed issue where customers buying coffee would sometimes get stuck in queue.
Fixed issue where clients (not hosts) couldn't move their vending machines and they would get stuck.
Fixed issue where clients (not hosts) couldn't move their placed trash cans.

Items

Updated sizing of box beam to reflect 'L' as a large item. We'll revisit this when we do an overhaul of shelving types.

Shelves

Fixed issue where moving a shelf would cause items to be lost in multiplayer.

Furniture

Fixed an issue where all furniture was being saved as if it was the host's furniture and not the person who placed it.
Fixed an issue where clients couldn't pick up boxes from warehouse shelf.
Fixed an issue where clients moving a warehouse shelf would lose all their items.
Fixed an issue where clients repackaging items wouldn't remove the item from the world.

General

Fixed an issue where a new day occurred causing the wrong customers to disappear.
Fixed an issue when loading saves that would cause an infinite loading screen to appear.
Fixed an issue when upgrading the warehouse space that the customers' pathfinding wouldn't update.
Fixed bug where certain furniture items weren't affecting customers' pathfinding.
