The problem of stuttering or freezing in AC1 is a known issue.
You can resolve it by switching the Ubisoft Connect app to the offline mode.
In the new app, you can do it on the login screen (you may have to log out first) in Settings > Start Ubisoft Connect in Offline Mode.
Hope it helps.

Please try the same workaround as a test first. It may be the same issue.
Do you use an RTX 40xx series GPU?
Ubisoft Support
There was an issue with 40xx series and drivers for them, that caused flickering, that's why I asked.
Did you try the offline mode in Ubisoft Connect? Did it help?
Ubisoft Support
@Avelyn, Xbox version still uses the same original hardware and software it was released for. With PCs and new hardware, drivers, Windows, there are always risks of issues with old games. They the overlay disable if you come back to the PC version.

What is the FPS you are getting? If it's more that 60, try limiting the game to 60FPS only. You can do it in Nvidia Control Panel settings.

I'll try reproducing this issue and come back to this topic.
Meanwhile, if you don't mind, can you record a short video of this issue and upload it any video hosting service we would be able to see?
